The Great Resignation
Maybe you’ve noticed, it’s getting hard to find people willing to work in lower to middle class careers! The pandemic started this trend we now call, The Great Resignation.
Instead, a big percentage of the population has adjusted their lifestyle to accommodate working part-time or gig economy.
It can be frustrating at times, but remember: You only need one employee per position! One happy human is a game changer. It's purely a numbers game, but you just have to keep talking to folks.
Don’t wait to recruit until you have an opening.
Always keep in mind trying to attract talent. Internally, keep your employees feeling a piece of a greater whole and this will shine through and be an appealing potential workplace to job seekers. Remember, workplace culture is everything!
Three New Places to Look for Talent:
Associations of your Trade - many careers have associations specifically for them. (I.e. realtors, manufacturers, construction careers, etc.)
Good ole’ paper flyers! For entry-level positions you can hang flyers at spots around your community. (I.e. colleges, laundry mat, grocery stores, etc.)
Local neighborhood listservs & Next Door- These are not traditional job boards but could be useful as a conversation piece that could bring attention to your company even if they aren’t yet seeking a job.
Remember you don’t have to do this search alone!
